Orleans Home Watch

Typical Home Watch per visit rate is $30.00 if within 15 km radius. If outside 15 km radius mileage is calculated at .75 per km). We will meet with you to discuss and conduct a home walk-through to ensure we accurately capture the extent of the home watch service required. 

 We can watch your home while you are away:

• Longer durations (months for snowbirds)
  
• Business trips out of the country
  
• Moving to new city while your Ottawa home is for sale​
  

We will provide regular email status reports, even if there are no issues summarizing status of home when away for extended periods and we will keep a checklist of all visits checked with comments.

We are bonded / insured

• Insurance companies require regular visits when homes are vacant for extended periods in order to keep your policy in force. 
  
• We recommend you check with your insurance company to see what the requirements are when the home is vacant 

• Disposal of newspapers and flyers (junk mail)
  
• Extensive check of the interior and exterior (roof, plumbing leaks, is heating operational)
  
• Rotate lights if required
  
• Check that critical appliances are functioning, such as fridge or freezer
  
• Check that the snowplowing, landscaping and house cleaning has been done as required
  
• Check and adjust your home interior temperature as required

• We can forward your mail to you or notify when bills arrive
  
• We can scan your mail and email you copies (at your request only)
  
• We can start your vehicle occasionally to ensure battery is fully charged
  
• We can reset any breakers if required
  
• We can respond to monitored alarm systems as required while you are away (we are not a security company)
  
• We can notify contractor if snowplowing, landscaping and house cleaning has not been done as required
  
• We can check and change smoke and CO2 alarm batteries if required
  
• We can air out your home (weather permitting)
  
• We can be your first point of contact while you are away
  
• We can water plants (inside and outside)
  
• We can feed small animals (at our discretion)
